Teth ט (also Tet, Tess) is the 9th letter of the Hebrew Aleph-Bet. Being “9“ it’s the foundation of Briah’s world of thought- not yet planning or action- but is a complete seed.
Teth ט means “serpent” in Hebrew and is a fusion of Vau ו- head bent in humility and Resh ר. Teth ט wears a crown on it’s left side, and as such reminds me of a sea otter lying playfully on its back.
True for all letters of light, the kabbalistic energy of the forces in Atziluth are poorly defined but directed. They are like fiery snakes emanating from the boson field of density and possibility.
Snakes by their nature are exquisitely sensitive to vibrations and frequencies. (This includes the virtually speaking and colored reality called T.V. and “Internet”.)
While Vav/Vau ו part of Teth ט wears a crown, his head is bowed in humility.
*
On the Tree of life, Teth ט joins paths of Chesed and Gevurah – Jupiter’s expansive power of truth into form. Teth ט bears G-d’s power (teachers from Chesed who ‘say and share’) opportunity (manifestations of Jupiter). Teth ט connects opportunities in man’s world of reality when Heh ה opens His window. These names and letters refer to the Kabbalistic tree of life.
Teth ט, is the vessel for “silver lining” of all things we choose to engage. Teth ט when combined with Vau ו and Beth ב (without the dot in it), spells Tov טוב- goodness.
For indeed, all is of G-d and all is good, ultimately, even if we can’t understand or see that at first.
At the beginning of a word, Teth ט is magnified and enlarged to emphasize this power of goodness.
In some schools, Teth ט is called the “daughter of the flaming sword”. Feminine, because Teth is a vessel- holds space for something. She carries Chesed’s merciful power inside.
Teth ט binds the power of light. It feeds and build’s Gebvurah’s forms as thoughts present to our conscious creative being.
*****
[The four world’s of formation are idea, thought, plan, action.
Ideas, less dense than thoughts, are of Atziluth- and glimpses of fiery serpents themselves. As an idea becomes more real, it takes shape as a thought and concept; this is Briah. Here thoughts start combining but aren’t organized; fiery serpents cherubim and seraphim form thrones and wheels.
Yetzirah is Briah’s world, organized and planned. Plans- heavier than in Briah’s world, have form such as the Hebrew letters. -Each one has their own expansive ‘world’ – which must be known to be wielded successfully.
Eventually, in Assiah, our idea – once a flash of possibility – increases in density until it is tangible. Then it is witnessable- as a thing able to be touched and moved; is concrete.
In Assiah, the tangible can be measured and pushed. Now it is matter from engagement of the Ashim, our merkaba’s strong inner forces- harnessed in our being’s mitochondria.
Each Sephirah on the Tree of Life exists in it’s version of 4 worlds. We’re each on different paths – and at different places in each Sephirah’s manifestation.]
**
Teth ט also carries the sperm’s intelligence of will. It activates Mem’s מ latent ‘egg’- really nest of resonant snakes. With articulated breath, life is brought to Zier Anpin – our merkaba’s holy vessel of self.
With that, Teth ט carries the male (outgoing Yang) intelligence into the egg. This activates when the “time” is right to receive such energy- for the egg (not the wo(e)-man, necessarily).
You can read about my journey to the snake G-ddess when I was “injected” into the middle of Her Orphic egg.
(Here is an updated essay: https://drjenwyman-clemons.com/2019/02/12/my-journey-to-the-snake-g-ddess/)
As Teth ט carries G-d’s will (we all have G-d beings inside of us – more accessible in some, than others) we use our words create our worlds – and others’ worlds as well. The latter is especially when you are “acting” or “being” G-d (to them).
Free will’s energy before containment by words (or actions) is unlimited- but also useless. It must be harnessed to be utilized.
**
Our free will can be defeated by “sin” – loosely defined as that which we continue to do despite knowing it is out of accordance with our understanding of G-d’s truth and values. Once we do a thing we consider “wrong”, there’s a sense of needing to be punished or to make amends. Now your gaze is focused on a past – not what is in present let alone the future. This especially matters once you know better (but also comes up in our life’s review at the end).
Will can be damaged or shrunk with confusion and entraining with others- hu(e)-man or otherwise, fixated on what they don’t want or other I’ll-nesses.
Focusing on toxicity leads to all sorts of “bad” and “unhealthy” behaviors – with guilt, shame, and blame further weakening us. You don’t need to tolerate these bad actors in your life.
**
With a crown on his head, Teth, ט intrinsically carries G-d’s power of His blessing.
How much blessing manifests in Assiah depends on one sense of karmic , “right and wrong”, as judged by Gebvurah’s severity (sense of right/ not-right form).
Like Peh פ, our mouth telling the story, Teth’s ט path doesn’t require the heart for compliance. It does require a “teacher”- the one with (seemingly) more power and knowledge. The one Vav/Vau ו heard and listened to out of rapt interest – including with f’ear.
Because Teth’s ט head is bowed, has humility.
With humility, one accepts punishment
[ “Punishment” is a subjective term – it reflects the value of the judges. May it be so they have compassion. -Roles may well be reversed, in the next lifetime.
Here’s an essay I wrote about impunity – since there are many today who still ascribe to being harsh with those they consider “lesser than”. https://drjenwyman-clemons.com/2023/02/18/impunity/%5D – only then can there be full repentance- and salvation. When meet Gebvurah’s forms of reparations; justice will be served.[ But for those seeking justice -today clamoring, be specific about what you want. Is it more opportunity like schools, better supplies, improvable land, better roads and transportation?
Speak wisely for your collective- not just yourself, your clans, or families. May what you seek be for the “highest and greatest good for all beings, including you down to your tiptoes!” You’ll both gain so much more together than apart – even when living life from a parallel play perspective (doing what you love but side by side – rather than facing); honor each other. There will always be tests – learn to turn the other cheek- and pray for them if you must).]
Bowed down, head lowered in humility, one emanates no light. Bowed down, one isn’t attractive- but not effaced necessarily. Bowed down, we don’t share our eye’s foveal spirit.
While everyone is advised to be humble unless called upon, Tzadiks, holy ones, are allowed 1/64 of that measure of pride (compared to non-Tzadiks). They keep their eyes down ~all the time.
Maybe that means they must look up to ‘shine’ once in a while?
If non-Tzadiks have more than 1/64 pride, showing more personal inner light and power than the Tzaddik, does that mean the Tzaddik must wait for all hell to break loose before he (or SHE) can spontaneously offer his (or HER) light of assistance or his (or Hers) mystical perspective? Perhaps before they share his (or her) “understandings”, ‘visions’ and ‘dreams’- triggered by teachings gifted by the senior elders, but otherwise not knowable?
Are they humble even then? Just asking for a friend.

As Da’ath continues to ‘spew’ or trickle to our consciousness in order to shift our individual manifestations of world, the rate of which is dependent on what we put out, we gain opportunity to grow in our understanding and perspective of life all around us- and shed what no longer serves to heal (or heel) us.
How that looks depends on what, from your universe of possibilities, you’re willing/bringing to yourself with your eyes and mouth.
As we engage (choose to respond) with entities and our “others”, each with his/her unique and potentially infinite perspective, dense veils, and warped biases, we shift too- often becoming smaller!
Then force of belief (bee-leaf) manifests into form – such as angelic forces or differential equations. With that our collective evolves. Too, we might become less curious.

In tarot, Teth’s ט path is “lust” or “strength”, and is often depicted as the virgin opening a lion’s mouth or riding bareback nude. With the latter, trusting and choosing her heart’s choice, Gebvurah demands bounds and provides karmic feedback
[Virgins vir-gin are those that haven’t been sullied or made to feel small in any way. They still have intact all their virility – sense of inner yang.
Because it’s gin, not gen, with a Yod ‘ in the middle, this is an idealized quality- from sense of inner great G-d, not one from gens- lineage.]
.
On cards depicting the virgin as coming from behind him, she’s got her whole hand around his muzzle and his head tilted or tilts back. While lion is in submission, in her there’s strength, possibly, but mostly courage to engage and touch him. I think she’s pulling his tooth or checking his gums.
