Tell us about the last thing you got excited about.

Last night just as i was about to close my window shades and get ready for bed, i saw a strangely shaped object that looked like a bus all lit up. it was oddly quiet and flying at low altitude.

i ran (and at 60+ I rarely run!!!) downstairs and out of the house to see what looked like a long line of bright lights quietly gliding along with about 12-15 seats. it didn’t have wings and was ~silent.

i ran back in again to get my camera- and got a blurry picture. which is above. the line of light between the trees is what I’m referring to. the little dot the the left is a star- it was going north; it was 9:45 pm.

later as i researched, i found Lyte aviation is working on an electric air taxi prototype (LA-44) possibly in the area. they hope to have some version of public flying by 2025-2026.

I wonder if that was one of them?!

What a cool idea for tourism!

Given the volume of aircraft is overall safe, well directed and organized, implemented wisely such a venture would be very successful though not inexpensive. Did you know the US manages 44,000 flights per day on average?

How cool is that?!

I published my story and picture on Nextdoor.com and texted a couple of friends living nearby hoping someone else might get to see it too. Not sure if others saw it though.

And of course I get excited about stats bumps!
