Where is joy? Is she here? Or did she go when I awakened?

These days she’s rarely stirring- preferring her sleep dreams to any version of reality.

Oh there, I caught her smiling off a rainbow. And there was the darling new baby! I got to coo. I caught her enjoying ballet class after doing a particularly delicious combination.

Here’s a necklace named, “Just be Joy”, I made circa 2017. It has azeztulite (middle orange), ssunstone (orange along sides), synth ruby, and kyanite (blue) among others.

I met a Joy a few times as actual people. One was a dramatic Italian diva – sort of ‘what you might expect’ vibrant and smiling; the others were anything but with deep bags, frowns and squeaky high voices. Another suffered from overdoses. I hope it wasn’t ‘cause everyone assumed they would be joyful?! and upset and rocked her boat?!

People say ‘tune into joy’, ‘choose joy’, ‘be joy’ – and that can be challenging – but I’m finally getting the hang of it. As I go through my daily life, I look for a little gleam in things that I choose, and leave a situation happier than when I came, mostly.

As with anything, if I were to be ‘optimally balanced’ (hypothetically), I’d have a little bit of joy in my every moment. I’m getting there without outright dancing or ‘acting silly’. I don’t need even draw attention.

What is joy? Why does just saying it feel ~good. It has an onomatopoeic quality.

 There are other words too:

L’ove

‘Bliss’

‘Lift’

‘Pivot’

‘Balance’

‘Move’

As you say these your mood shifts, you might. Try acting them out – literally. Dance – be a ballerina in dim light.

Use your arms; let your body lead you. Start with your heart, then add another part; try adding a hand or a foot. Point first.

When in one place move with your eyes closed. Do all of it gently – at once – with a soft smile on your face!

This is good first thing in the morning.  Retired now, I am blessed to be able to often take an on-line ballet class. But try to do these moves when cooking or even gardening. Practice being light on your feet.

Say aloud, words of goodness for your heart’s soma (vibrational self) and tangible corpus.

It’s beneficial to say good things aloud – in reference to yourself – and/or to someone near you or as a topic. Small niceties are pleasant.

Since any of these words could be used to describe our chosen ‘profession’ where we are of service (and getting paid)- at least on some level and dimension, we can talk about these when we ‘speak the same language’ of fun hobbies.

These are good principles for life – along with patience.

It never hurts to be indispensable, but know we aren’t really.

Sometimes we get to lif, pivot, and move to a new state of seeming to be balanced– overnight if one wants to keep their job, while another part of life breaks and reforms.

Really the universe was patiently trying to ‘help’ with ‘similar-’ and ‘look alike-‘ experiences.

As we keep our inner sense of lift – regardless of circumstances, we’ll step into a more powerful self!
