I’m working on a book about personal sovereignty. Given this weekend’s activities (the “No Kings” rally) I feel called to share this bunch of paragraphs from my revised first chapter- speaking to what isn’t sovereignty. I realize I may lose some followers who disagree with me.
“What isn’t sovereign? Sadly, I can think of no king or leader today or from any myth of yesterday who demonstrates sovereignty. There are those who have obtained power and prestige by treating others with shock and awe as they fearlessly faced an “enemy” and went into battle. With their banners, they proclaimed G-d was on their side. They were natural motivators for their ragtag soldiers.
Maybe it was an ancestor who did this – and descendants just do “maintenance” -beheading (literally or figuratively) those who threaten him. Otherwise, their hands are lily clean.
Most “kings” I know of are pure narcissists. They have only interest in themselves and their family’s appearances. They force all those around them to fit into their choreography.
These are men and wo(e)-man who have been groomed by lineage(s) that they are “better than…”- giving them the false notion that taking from these “others” is their birthright.
If “Game of Thrones” has any truth, along with other versions of historical fiction, kings of today and yesteryear consolidate power by setting destitute and inwardly emasculated hyped- up troops against peoples in foreign lands to destroy, rape, and pillage.
That is not sovereignty – that’s bullying. Instead of being an attraction magnet in order to be magnate – where people willingly enjoin to give him (or her) the fruits of their labor, they’re stripped and subjugated.
The rest of their lives these unfortunates spend regaining themselves (if they’re lucky to get a second chance). Their offspring will always carry a torch for them and won’t forget those who destroyed their lineage’s wealth. Out of their comfort zone, a once industrious ‘native’ fights back while hiding their gifts of industry – stimulating all kinds of black market that the ‘king’ never sees.
This isn’t that far from today’s reality where ‘strong men’ take testosterone to buff up and look bigger-which shrinks their actual gonads and rots their brains.
When their measured testosterone drops, which the “doctors” tell them is abnormal, they blame their home front. Really their body is normalizing.
Testosterone is induced from a pervasive sense of threat.
Besides wartime environment, which used to be a reality for many lineages with life imbued in constant fear of siege and/or deployment, today’s “high school” is a similar version of shark tank.
Every child is chronically stressed from fear of missing out or not accomplishing. They’re judged harshly at a VERY young age. ~Everyone’s testosterone (and testosterone receptors in women) are elevated.
Since our home front is for most a sanctuary, lowered testosterone implies they feel safe and don’t need to appear threatening anymore.”
