Vau’s ו Kabbalah[1] “path” on our tree of life, emanates from Chokmah and connects to Chesed.
Recall Chokmah is the embodiment of all astrological energies (=a holographic representation of universe’s firmament). Chesed is Jupiter’s realm- our spirit’s expansion into greatness.
According to the law of reciprocity, the more we give, the more we receive-on His time, in all things.
Vau’s ו path is that of the heirophant – the one who receives and imparts wisdom from Chokmah’s wealth of knowledge. With sharing, Vav/Vau’s ו student of self (stud-ent – what the nail hangs on or ‘stew’-dent- mish-mash they bit off but now need to digest), Vav/Vau’s ו consciousness grows.
Vav/Vau ו receives all that is said or done to his/her corpus of self. Our Vau ו forms like a game of “Telephone” in slow motion from its own and others’ words, including inaccuracies. What was said during our childhood, morphs into unrecognizable tale from what it once was. Yet, in fact, we get what we wish for with our spelling- saying words aloud, including the ones with “not” before them.
While in training, Vav/Vau ו absorbs – without questioning. She receives and responds-until s/he knows better. Until then, she/he is faithfully (cleaved) to his/her moon self.[2] Discernment comes later.
Un-educed, Vav/Vau ו is a nescient and nascent being- constantly being reborn the same and ignorant.
When (and this doesn’t always happen), soma self – made up of force (Right pillar of energy) and form (Left pillar of severity) hears something resonating with Her vessel’s mission of creation, Yod י has a hand in it. Then heart self wakes up and gets curious.
Naturally, curiosity depends on opportunities. While we are curious, our being is in an open and still position, not reactive or war-like. (Also not jiggling inattentively with ADD/ADHD.)
With stillness, opportunities may be heard and received.
We don’t learn from a place of fear nor in any meaningful way, from endless repetition. Doors and windows in the consciousness must be unlocked and opened, before a student can be present. To be educed, a student needs to feel welcomed – genuinely.
With that a corpus can collect new data – otherwise it washes over him/her ~meaninglessly, and the student stays engaged in their world(s) of worries.
With newfound wisdom, we might step into other worlds from those of our parents to create ones of our own. This is an economic win-win! And gives resilience to our lineage.

Yet our teachers’ knowledge is necessarily limited- and for the most part, obsolete-as soon as its taught – at least if you believe science journals.
Everything on the planet is evolving right along with us.

You could think of Vav/ Vau’s ו energy as akin to a plant being. Unlike unfettered animal creator self, Zayin ז, who moves and does according to heart’s whim’s, Vau/Vav ו stays rooted and tethered.
She faithfully reflects her mitochondrial lineage- which of course, reflects her diet. She creates blooms and fruits predictably (even if her heart isn’t in it).
She is unoriginal. She follows in her elders’ footsteps. Wedded to his/her plant body, she doesn’t get up and go. S/he doesn’t change location to find a more favorable elemental mixture. She relies on what her passive vessel receives from roots -Gaia G-ddess, and sky G-d.
Dependent, Vau/Vav ו needs Chokmah’s teacher to reach his/her higher self. Being trained comes naturally when we have good teachers.
In her spot, demographic, or caste, s/he receives all from his/her locality: so earth =sustenance, air =thoughts, fire =warmth/passion, and water =connections. Vav/Vau ו doesn’t generate these but collects. She holds space.
As a receptor self, like a plant, if she gets too much or too little of the above, before she becomes overwhelmed and succumbs, she has ways to block or numb- unless she’s in a particularly cruel world which forces him/her to mercilessly take from it -like force feeding or propping up eyelids even when it’s long past bedtime.
And yes, we have many of those living in those conditions. Bless them for showing us the truths of their worlds.
Without l’ove’s freedom, s/he self implodes and becomes sickened. Her self becomes “ick”. With luck, a tormentor then releases her. And she is freed to find her deeper self and tribe.
For examples, look to those sitting in doctors’ and ER waiting rooms – each has a story for you. And many are learning about new ways of being – such as being kinder and gentler to oneself at all times, not just when it’s convenient.

IS it Vav ו or Vau ו ? Turns out both are correct.
Vav ו – with letters of first and tenth house of self and status, stands there while boss (Ayin ע/ Aleph א) spews onto him/her. S/he receives but may or may not take in whatever Aleph א breathes and Ayin ע sees. As vessel for A, Vav’s ו corpus ‘catches’ it.
V looks like two arms reaching up. These will need strengthening if they’re to be helpful and bring lasting victory.
When Vav ו is spelled like Vau ו “u”, Vau ו carries energy of the ninth house-[3] journeys and life’s higher lessons and teachings. These experiences stimulate dreams. U has extra schooling-beyond the very basics.
When we take that trip, go to college or university, we step out into the great unknown. Then there is then a new place to temporarily call home. Stepping out takes courage.
As hu(e)-man, you will learn a new set of bee-leafs[4] to organize your life’s labyrinth; perhaps learn to thrive in a new hive.
When you leave and find a new life, even if you later end up right back next door, you will be a new person.
You’ll have set yourself into manifestation from your l’earning (doing the thing you earn from) and can offer that as medicine to your community.
Leaving home requires learning to trust -in oneself and one’s choices. Successful people learn to trust themselves sequentially. Trust in oneself, starts with choosing their own course work and being responsible for their grades- and showing up, for example.

Later, when you get a job, you must do something a certain way to your boss’s pleasure and satisfaction in order to be paid.
His satisfaction is your reward – if he wants your best work, he will pay you well.
All the while, Vav/Vau ו is sharpening Zayin’s ז metaphysical sword and strengthening their grip on it. After 5000 hours, you become experienced; you’ve got a lot of stuff internally organized.
And yet, you’ll be dazzled by masters with far greater time doing what you would do, from their 40K hours of having boots on the ground. (This is an elder’s value! They have riches to offer beyond their stories).

Either way, over time,Vav/u ו learns progressively what he must do to please the boss – but there will always be another thing you can (and must- or be replaced) do for him. Vau ו receives Zayin’s ז cookie crumbs – enough to get their needs met. And yet, when the tasks are impossible – or out of alignment, then it’s time for Vav/Vau ו to go- using Zayin ז to make the choice.
As Vav/Vau ו has no control and is uncreative, s/he probably doesn’t feel responsible for any particular outcome – so can’t honestly feel proud or accomplished (or guilty at that). Outcomes Vav/Vau ו supports but his/her Zayin ז didn’t create, don’t really matter much to him/her. Nonetheless s/he organizes truths and facts as s/he perceives them.

One day, we will have our heart opened- via a friend’s Yod י [5] and Heh ה.[6] , We’ll discover a new facet of our spirit- this might even be on our death bed.
Until then, may our blossoming be more boll-like opening- gently loosening its coiled cotton seed fibers to be released gently in a breeze. And may this happen well before our death time!
[1] I’m spelling KabAllah “wrong” intentionally. Every incarnate being has a vessel of self. Consider this our spirits merkaba- our “cab”, if you will, because yes, in this lifetime, we are finite – more like conscribed palm than actual hand of G-d. We have a cycle of life which Kaph describes. The Allah part should be self-explanatory. We are all vessels of G-d.
[2] Our moon self is our genetic blueprint of all that can be educed from us. Like the moon, this shifts depending on where we are and our phase of life. Our moon self reflects the light of our creator G-d self the sun – expressed by Zayinז . Vav/Vau וencodes the vessel. No surprise, mine is in Virgo- sing of teacher and healer. What’s yours? For that you do need ~birthtime because the moon does move quickly.
[3] The zodiac as a wheel has twelve houses. Starting with the first house, when we place the english alphabet around it – the letters, “I” and “U” end up there. I think of ‘U’ as two joined “I’s” rooted with no little dot of Yod י. One of the “Is” has a little more basis.
[4] Bee-leafs (also known as beliefs) – we all serve our queen of self. In order to get honey, we stay busy. Depending on our beliefs about what we are good at- we choose jobs- working for someone else. None are incorrect- we need all of them. Some jobs create pollens, some propolis, some honey from nectar. While each can feel fun – as busy bees, we might not know about the other ones. Sometimes we focus on the drudgery. Others stay home to mind and patch up the hive – others take care of babies in their bee hive’s nursery. A child might l’ove that job! Luckily for hu(e)-mans, we can do any one of them, once we are trained. May it be so our teachers are patient with us while we learn – learn a (new) world’s labyrinth, and become efficient in it. We were all beginner once.
That said, the honey will be sweetest, when there’s a nice garden bearing flowers with nectar nearby- for that you need to hone from your creator G-d self.
Not be busy for busy-ness sake but for something creative, fun, lasting, and worthwhile.
[5] Our heart self receives from any of Yod’s י finger and all digits. We receive from each of them -though a bit differently. Touching the tips of a finger engages the corresponding planetary energy.
Some fingers are more sensitive than others to various touches, like pinching and pressure -applied in such a way, can make a soma feel sick or giddy. Supposedly you can induce abortion by special touches to webs of a finger; I can’t say I know this, just mentioning it to those worried. Lineages also have evolved to be more or less sensitive.
We might receive best from rational Mercury (the little finger), or perhaps beautiful valuable Venus (strongest on left ring finger), powerful middle finger Mars or Saturn (only when used with thumb though)[5] ) and/or Jupiter’s laser-like pointer. The latter two are most developed on the dominant hand.
The Thumb in some books is Saturn, in other’s its the heart with Mars. Usually when we receive from these, a lesson feels painful.
It can feel soul crushing when the whole hand’s involved at once.
BTW, the tip of each finger also correlates with a fusion points for Chinese medicine’s Chi meridians.
[6] Heh ה as you recall is shaped like a Dalet ד / Resh ר with miniature Vau ו – but not with head bowed, standing at the gateway. Heh ה represents Chokmah’s window of opportunity.
