Consumption

*****

With consumption,. We open mouths to receive tastes and textures as we ingest food from plant and animal kingdom[1]– fuel for our mitochondria energy bodies of moving electrons- our flame of self.

*

Strong fires need fuel, oxygen, and spark-if they go out.

****

In the wild, food continues to be eaten – browsed unwashed and including soil’s little dirt and bugs –by healthy mammals weighing 600 lbs or more. Apes and deer prefer buds and stems – tissues filled with building blocks for the plant yet to come including mitochondria.

*

Before growing to full-size, each baby cell forms as a tiny whole. With it’s own lipid bilayer membrane and DNAs in nucleus, each is filled with tissue-specific gene-products such as RNAs, and proteins like chloroplasts.

*

Turns out for the forager– these are most nutritious parts of the plant–not the fruit or flowers.  And why deer wait to eat your flowers right before they bloom? Argh!

*

The plant’s microbiome has its own digestive allies[2]– that is, for the animal which hopes to be nourished by it.

**

I was recently struck by some advice my veterinarian gave me when my cat Luna got sick. The vet said it’s ‘OK to give her a couple of days of store-bought chicken (and rice)… but she’d become malnourished’, over time. She ‘needs to have food with supplemental vitamins’.

*

So even if I give her ‘organic’ chicken, which are primarily grain-fed – not scratching for insects, they are nutritionally depleted . (How can they eat any significant insects living 10+ in a newspaper-sized cage). Does this mean commercial meat isn’t as nutritious as foraged? What about my son who mostly eats nothing but?

*

According to industry-sponsored websites, the average broiler chicken is fed ~43% corn, 27% soy, and 14% bakery meal. Now today, in the U.S., corn and soy are ~97% GMO; the wheat, used in bakery goods, is routinely killed by direct application of glyphosate before harvest- so it is very measurable when milled?

Or that animals raised under stressful conditions have degraded muscles and ulcerated intestinal linings- just like patients in the I.C.U.? Consider that when you buy your next capon.

*****

Here’s another observation. In nature, animals take water in sips, when it is available freely (which is only while they stand at river’s edge)- or else lick droplets of dew and rainwater. Water guzzling isn’t seen in the wild. Placid animals don’t continuously sip.

*

Where does the recommendation to drink 6,8,12 glasses of water a day to be “healthy” come from?! Current guidelines, do not reflect any conditions of nature. Could drinking so much needlessly dilute us- and our enzymes? Would a body then have to make extra ones to make up? No wonder indigestion and acid reflux is common.

*****

As mitochondria activate and respire, they also generate free radicals and intracellular inflammation.

Did you know, NAD+, is cell currency for calcium signaling to turn on cell receptors, including our immune defenses?

*

NAD+ is depleted as a cell respires (works using oxygen) whether via fatty acid oxidation (using fats), glycolysis (using sugars), and the tricarboxylic acid cycle (mitochondrial metabolism) as well as with exercise generating lactic acid (from over-exercising) and alcohol detoxification. [3]

*

For me that is “proof”, of why eating lightly feels good- and is good for you too! Shedding oneself of a depleting substance is helpful. It is OK to be willing (to release an unhelpful habit) but not have the slightest idea how to go about it. Here is where some supportive guidance may help.[4]

*****

With an Ayurvedic diet, especially after a few weeks of Panchakarma, eating an especially “clean” peasant vegetarian diet with no sugar, caffeine, alcohol, or wheat, along with exfoliation, sweating, and enemas, you have a nice zingy feeling that lasts for as long as you continue the diet (and live moderately).

One aspect about panchakarma is promotion of epithelial shedding and stimulated sebum release (from sweating, skin brushing, and “oleation” – when you take a small amount of purified oil every morning for a week before starting the enemas). Each could theoretically help eliminate persistent organic pesticides (P.O.Ps) which “bio-magnify” in fats of meat and dairy (even organic ones) as they move up the food chain. These practices help shed cell membranes and their lipids- and hence included contaminants.

P.O.Ps are persistent when you keep eating the creme-de-la-creme! P.O.P.s aren’t present in “organic” vegetables. By simple partitioning, over time you will ‘replace’ yourself with P.O.P.-free (or reduced) oils.

*****

Pancreas and stomach ‘taste’ food with taste sensors looking for nectars and protein. These foods make ‘her’ feel good with myriad pleasant restful hormones, like somatostatin- and they are trophic supporting weight gain.

Oh, …and multivitamin and antioxidants aren’t actually good for you. https://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/09/opinion/sunday/dont-take-your-vitamins.html?smid=url-share

*

Many flavors we know from our mother’s womb- and how mom physiologically responds to them.

*

Soma ‘believes’[5] food set by parents and i-dol(l)s is ~nutritional. We try new foods when those we trust recommend them…(unless meals and foods are used for power plays at the dining room table).

***

Food leaving the stomach has been masticated with saliva, mixed with mucous, churned  and milled in a bath of acid[6].After being pummeled by stomach’s rugal folds, this partial digest gradually it works its way to the pylorus, a check valve of sorts, before entering the duodenum.

*

Once in the duodenum, neutralizer bicarb is squirted onto contents –just like the car wash spraying soap on your car. How much bicarb required, depends on the amount of acid your stomach needed. Enzymes work as catalysts dependent on temperature and concentration.[7]

*

Bicarb comes from the pancreas. That’s one of her jobs, to make way for cholcystekinin enzymes to wake up the gall bladder – (bile can only emulsify, in an neutral/alkaline environment). Already the food-stuff is pretty fine. And this is just digestion’s beginning.

**

In the non-stimulated state, as in unused or fasted, vacuoles sit filled with ‘messages’- organized proteins waiting to release in response to a trigger. As long as receptors are empty, they just sit there.

In response to their specific signal – as we eat what a receptor waits for, ATP goes to ADP, etc. and a series of gears start to turn- each step requiring mitochondria’s energy.

*

Once released, though they must again fill…and so forth, to ready for the next time. Each time, responses strengthen, becoming more brisk and amplified. This is a form of ongoing conditioning and feedback regulation.

*

Without the charge or signal to release, stuffed vacuoles deplete, resorb, and get recycled. In time gradually diminishing- though they may ‘complain’ about it. Some send out extra “I’m hungry” grumblings. Though we aren’t.

*

With perception of too little, ‘she’, will set to ‘work’ to get ‘it’ for us- In the process overriding whatever it was our “I am”, ego-self, (not IAM’s embodied self)- ‘thinks’ we our want!

*****

Also in the natural world, no animal eats, at any one sitting, such quantity or variety of foods as a “typical” (restaurant-style) western meal. From a 100,000 million year old mammalian perspective, this is ~exponential increase in demand for our corpus of body’s digestion requirements.

**

Consider, the typical salad comes from at least four widely spaced garden plots- often as many as seven; imagine the economies of laborers!  What might be the number for any given feast? Think about the transport alone. Is this really serving our health, or the planet to eat such labor intensive foods?

With simple food diets, digestive processes get to rest -or at least aren’t used so intensively.

***

With excess feasting, not wanting to ‘waste’[9], it’s no wonder ‘she’, our physical vessel of self will try (anything) to digest surplus. [10]

*

As long as the ‘signal’ is to her “essential”, meaning subconsciously programmed to believe necessary for well-being, such as tastes of sweet or umami, ‘she’ will make new tissues, including tumors. She will also try to make new enzymes (and processes)- to digest the indigestibles.

*

Daily use, like exercise, requires more of everything. As long as surfeit continues, specific organs ‘ramp up’ and enlarge. By definition, increases ‘pressure’ for DNA transcription- necessary when cells increase in number and when genes turn on[11]. Cells produce more proteins by amplifying with RNA translation, which they need to process surfeit. ‘New’ tissues have metabolic needs, and so require new blood vessels too.

*

Together this increases the risk of errors- and mutations.

*

Such is an effect of over-consumption.’

Then we hu(e) mans add more meal courses- and not just on our birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter!

No wonder tryptophan spikes, iron, and glucose are a main ‘food’ for cancer.

*

*****

Now, fat accumulating on a body, represents our ingestion and body hoarding of fruit-like foods.

*

We get fat, when we eat excess sweet – and fat.

*

Having extra lipids and fat in our diet means we didn’t have to burn it for work or survival. For Soma, this is evidence of surplus. Now we also know adipose, fat tissue, is a hormone factory all its own and is generally recognized to be a source of inflammatory cytokines (TNF-a, IL-6), steroid hormones (both sex and corticosteroid), and leptin.- these are essentially all excess drivers of metabolism and strongly associated with metabolic syndrome.

******

Here is an observation about emulsifiers that might be important. [12]

*

Emulsifiers are polar in one area of their 3D molecule -that is, water-loving or hydrophilic, and fat-like with long hydrophobic carbon chains- in another.

To make salad dressings creamy we need to add an emulsifier like lecithin or mustard- otherwise oil and water stay in separate layers. Commercial food industry uses a large number of emulsifiers to make sauces, batters, and creams more stable and appealing.

These water-loving (polar) and water-hating (nonpolar)[13] parts dance- to join together, transport and drop off, lipid-dissolved substances– through our blood’s serum. Their properties let them dissolve into our lipids too.

As like dissolves like, the nonpolar part dissolves lipid. Emulsifiers act indiscriminately, Could this worsen or cause gut leakiness?

Emulsifiers are regulated by the FDA, but some aren’t allowed to be used in other countries (such as Japan and Middle East) due to safety concerns. Several studies with Carboxymethylcellulose and Polysorbate-80 in rats, showed them to cause weight gain, metabolic syndrome, increased markers of inflammation, and dysbiosis associated with colon cancer. While FDA studied them again in 2017, and called them “safe” when used rarely, there is no safety data about cumulative use- as they are present in a large variety of processed foods which could be eaten in one meal and a few times a day. It’s best to try to avoid them.

***

Transported lipids exchange according to gradients- being dropped off at stations (receptors) which aren’t already saturated[14]; if body needs more receptors, because she can’t clear the plasma fast enough- well she’ll just make more!

*

Meanwhile, if ‘she’ continues to be ‘unsuccessful’ with her digestion, otherwise strange bacteria on the food or packaging itself, will show up inhabiting the GI tract. [15]

**

Taking a probiotic whilst still polluting with “bad” food, is unlikely to have much benefit, though efforts you do make to clean up your diet, count to lighten the hive mind’s, as in pancreas’ or liver’s work load.

*

Taking a pre-biotic, like inulin present in artichokes, leeks, onion, wheat, soy, and others may help reverse intestinal inflammation.

***

She, Soma, can be rebellious when Psych is forced by will, such as with a decisions ‘He’ makes; so please be gentle with her. Until now, it’s ‘his’ wants we’ve been fulfilling.

With activities that ‘feel’ uncomfortable in any way, causing stress or anxiety, we are talking at the tissue level, or subtle shifts in chemical signatures, Psych’s inner eye opens.

*

Once Psych’s awake, she’s involved and now has an ‘e’ on the end. She pushes back to stabilize and keep loved ones ‘safe’- (however she defines)- thwarted, she can be deviously[16] undermining!.

**

Play Aikido with your subconscious- coax yourself with the promise of feeling even better[17]and ‘she’ will gradually learn to trust you as you listen to her too!

***

For proper digestion, honor yourself and eat (only) with friends and loved ones[18].

*

If you are eating “good” food and prepared lovingly and in the presence of those you love, and suffer a bit of indigestion, please be patient with your soma self. Initially lessen portions as she adjusts, with farting and rumblings. It may even take a couple of years, but discomforts resolve. Meanwhile put your hands on your tummy and say, “there, there”.

*

Changing one thing does change everything. With dedication, practice, and reassurance, she can and will shift successfully. Moins et plus.

*

After visits to many other countries where people are physically thriving and have solid rates of fertility, I can happily report, diets are far less rich than in the good ole’ U.S.A.,, but still robust. There is plenty of delicious food, especially if we stop eating cows[19]. Please remember, the U.S.A. is only 4% of world’s population! The rest of the world gets along with far less.

***** Bon Appetite!

[1] There is no such thing really as a charge per se- what we are measuring is an effect of boson field squeezing the ‘light’ energy to manifest in a statistical location. Proton’s channels, and photons jumping orbitals are the “measurable” result of boson field energy shifting.  Simultaneously happens inter- and extra/ intra- molecularly.

[2] Microbes are organisms of opportunity. They grow where they can.

[3] Beer and wine are (or can be) a form of living food-so in moderation, OK.  But not spirits- as they are ghosts of  death.

[4] Except you could ask yourself, “why this”, “why now”? Next thing you know, you’ll have an “Aha!”, or at least LOL!

[5] Be-lief – a leaf of be-(ing). Some of us have so many beliefs, we’re under ancestral tar.

[6] Perhaps we don’t have a second physical stomach because Psych believed in ‘better living through chemistry”! Now we have pancreas, gall bladder and intestinal microbiome niches of bacteria all doing special ‘jobs’.

[7] Chill or dilute enzymes, say by drinking a glass of ice water, the secreting organ stomach glands will compensate by making more.

[9] With reference to the “clean-plate club”, an American campaign introduced post WWII- allegedly to avoid food scarcity, we teach children to overeat, and name ‘what ifs’…using guilt  to encourage overfeeding.

[10] . ‘She’ has to be ready to make little ones you know- regardless of gamete package.

[11] In an embryonic structure, the ‘ad-ult’ (towards- ultimate (form or structure)) is fully present but individual tissues are not amplified. So ‘she’ looks like a rodent. (Unlike a Styrofoam cup with symmetry so that if you place it outside a sub – and at 5000 feet below sea level, will shrink down keeping perfect proportions, or if one were to space walk without pressure suit, results in an exact opposite- the ‘Michelin man’. Tissues sequentially amplify, with RNAs translations- activated differentially, depending on time and space. We are not preformed humanoid nymphs!

[12] Artificial emulsifiers are widely used in processed and frozen foods.

[13] Lipid are “water-hating” hydrophobic -but love themselves. Detergents, polar on one end, and fat on the other, essentially a form of emulsifier, can get fats to form solutions with water. Without  fats don’t go into solutions.

[15] Common chemical cleansers used in the home favor the presence of resistant bacteria and microbes. In homes where they are used frequently, these microbes have been found in the gut of the children present. Boxed goods storage mites, can be up to 40% by weight/volume. These organisms have their own responsive microbes-in their own digestive tracts…and chemical by-product signatures.

[16] Devious – of the devi (little g-d spirits in the rocks) – conjured organizing forces, generated by love and hate- and therefore of Her boson(m) field and not of Him.

[17]

[18] I know that might sound like year-round Ramadan for some of us, fasting all day until we get home, but nature is always to be considered your friend. So try eating outside.
